The idea for Brilliant! originated as a conceptual light installation that would take Light Capsules' approach — bringing hand-painted, faded advertisements back to life — and apply it to iconic neon signs that no longer contained their mesmerizing chemical elements after years of neglect.
The Neon Museum in Las Vegas welcomed the idea with open arms, granting access to their dark and un-powered North Gallery, where long-lost signs were waiting to dazzle Vegas once again. Within 24 hours, our team photographed, vectorized, animated, and projection-mapped one corner of the neon boneyard. With just one generator and three projectors, a portal back in time was opened.
Following the successful one-night-only event, excitement within The Neon Museum's organization grew regarding the project's long-term potential. Nine months later, Brilliant! officially launched.
